How to achieve health and happiness, the easy way

Here we are--9 months into our journey through the Bagua Map--on the 9th Gua (or life area):

...smack dab in the middle of the Bagua.

 

Health touches every aspect of your life: not only on the Bagua Map, but in your daily existence. When you are in good health, you are able to focus on what is important to you in life (being happy, prospering, developing a career path that marries your passions and skills, thriving in your relationships).

The environment where you spend the majority of your time--your home and your workplace--will determine the quality of health you experience in your life. This is true in many regards.

First:

Your space reflects the patterns and habits you have had in the past, and that you have today. If you are experiencing difficulty in your health, or want to shift an unhealthy habit, you have to change your space.

It is next to impossible to change a habit without shifting your space to better support your desire.

Second:

Is your space overly cluttered? Do you feel like you are constantly dealing with stuff? Are your closets full of things you rarely access? Do you have difficulty finding what you’re looking for? Do your surfaces attract clutter or just remain cluttered? Do things not have proper homes?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, chances are, your space could better support your health (and every other area of your life).

Health of YOUR body...

When you spend your time dealing with your stuff, that means you have less time and energy for what really matters. Your stuff weighs down you down, making it difficult to start a project, making it feel too big to even begin.

This weight creates stuckness and stagnation in your life.

When your space is stuck or stagnant, you will see this reflected in your body and your life. Stagnation in your energetic body--when things are not flowing the way they should--is the beginning of many health problems.

But health isn’t just about your body, it’s much more often about your mind.

Health of mind...

A cluttered space creates a cluttered mind.

When your space is full of things--some of which bring you joy, some of which bring you guilt or anxiety (yes your things can do that to you!)--you will see that joy and guilt and anxiety reflected in the rest of your life.

All of this input makes it difficult to think clearly, to see the silver lining, to feel like your life is simple and easeful. It makes it natural to focus on what isn’t working, what’s going wrong, what you don’t love. And of course, where you put your focus, expands.

This lack of ease, or dis-ease in your space, creates disease in the body and mind.

I have worked with a number of clients with compromised health. This has always been reflected in their space in some way or another. Some of the space issues have been easy to rectify, some are built into the very structure of the home and are more difficult.

I'm going to tell you a secret: Most issues can be rectified by clearing out any stuff you’ve accumulated that you don’t love.

Clearing out the stuff that you don't use and don't love is an incredibly powerful tool to open up possibility in all areas of your life. The more stuff you have, the harder it is to get started. Once you do, you’ll be amazed by how inspired you are to continue.
